I started my driving career at the age of 17 back in 1982. Since that time I have had many milestones.
In 1991 I passed my heavy goods vehicle test on the first attempt, and spent the next 15 years as a professional driver. During
that time I have driven or rode just about everything on wheels, from motorbikes and farm machinery to some of the biggest
lorries on the roads today. Not happy with this I went further still and competed in the lorry driver of the year for over
10 years, reaching a highest position of the 16th best lorry driver in the UK.
Some of the awards I have received so far during my 27 year driving career are:
· Class 1 Heavy Goods Vehicle Licence
· Lorry Driver of the Year finalist 1999, 2000, 2002.
· Institute of Advanced Motorist (car)
· Institute of Advanced Motorist (HGV)
· Diamond Advanced Motorist
· Diamond Special Test
· DSA approved driving instructor
· S.A.F.E.D. trained.
As you can see from the above, driving is more of a passion than an occupation, and that I have a vast amount
of experience to pass on to my pupils.
As a person I hope people would think of me
as friendly and easily approachable. So with my driving experience, calm and friendly approach to the way I conduct my lessons
it’s no wonder I have such a very high first time pass rate.
